We’ll be the first to admit that public transit has a few down sides. Packed rush hour trains where you can’t get near a pole, for instance, so you have to stand unsupported and get involuntarily mosh-pitted into the people around you. Non-packed trains where you can get a pole, which then turns out to be coated in flu germs. Gizmodo has shared a brilliant solution that solves both these issues at once, and you can replicate it with one trip to the hardware or dollar store, for probably 10 bucks or less.
Yep, that’s a plunger stuck to the ceiling of the train. It’s germ-free (or at least it only has your germs), portable, cheap, and always available. The only down side is that you look a little silly. A little silly like a fox.
