As a former New York City dweller (I won’t risk the ire of people who feel like you need to live there since birth to be called a New Yorker) now living in relatively inexpensive, spacious, and rural splendor in NorCal boy, oh, boy did I chortle my way through this blog of thoroughly shitty, almost uninhabitable New York City rooms. Seriously, only look at these if you’re feeling kind of stable or in a good mood. Definitely do not look at them if you’re a dancer/writer/actor/urban farm intern trying to make your dreams come true in the Big Apple. This blog is where dreams come to die.

Here is one place they might want to die.

If your dreams didn’t die there, maybe they will die here.

But this is my favorite.

By the way, this blog wasn’t just made by someone trying to be all snarky and “doesn’t this blow?” The poignant mission statement: “This is a blog created for me to share the craigslist postings I sift through on a daily basis trying to find decent, affordable housing in New York City.” Chortles aside, I’d like to say with all honesty, no matter where you lay your head down in NYC, it’s still the greatest city ever. So if one of these “rooms” isn’t in your immediate future, laugh away. And if it is — well, good luck, and more importantly:
