World’s richest artist Damien Hirst, best known for preserved sharks and diamond-encrusted skulls and having his assistants make all his artwork, apparently owns an obscene amount of land in Ilfracombe parish, Devon, England. And he wants to use it to build a development of 500 “eco-homes.”
Hirst will collaborate with an architecture firm to design the buildings, which will have your full complement of green features:
Sustainable features … include wind turbines embedded in the roofs, photovoltaic panels and advanced insulation, all of which will be sensitively incorporated to reference the existing flavour of Ilfracombe’s residential architecture.
According to a spokesperson, Hirst “has a horror of building anonymous, lifeless buildings. He wants these houses to be the kind of homes he would want to live in.” The mind boggles.
