Well before Typhoon Haiyan made landfall in the Philippines on Nov. 8, 2013, weather watchers knew the storm would be terrible. But with more than 6,300 confirmed deaths and billions of dollars in damage, it turned out to be one of the worst natural disasters of the decade.
