Solar Impulse ain’t exactly a passenger plane — more of a beefed-up hang glider. But it’s still a big deal for it to be able to traverse these distances on solar power alone. The current leg of its trip will take the plane from the Bay Area to Phoenix, but it’s in it for the long haul, crossing the entire country in the next few weeks.
