I submit that slides automatically up the fun factor of nearly any place in the world. Try to think of a place that is solemn or ordinary. Say, a church or a transit tunnel. But then if you happen to be in Oruro, Bolivia, like I was, you could get a rush of glee from sliding beside a lovely white church and a giant statue of the Virgin Mary.

Or, if you’re in one of Berlin, Germany’s U-bahn stations, you could take the fast lane to catch your train (at least during the filming of the video below). If this were a global model for underground transit stations, think of the double-bonus of helping out commuters who are running late and giving them a happy boost of adrenaline!

Please excuse the fact that this video turns out to be a car ad. I’m turning this into a pro-mass transit cheer: More slides for transit riders!
