Two weeks ago, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) called for an “armed and dangerous” revolution against measures to curb greenhouse-gas emissions and move away from fossil fuels.

Now she’s toning down her rhetoric a bit, clarifying during an interview with NewsMax that she wants citizens “to be armed with knowledge, so they can be dangerous to the policies of the left.”

The aim, Bachmann says, is to combat the Democrats’ plan to impose a “tax on the right to use and consume energy.” She says a cap-and-trade plan “can be stopped if the American people rise up and say not me, not no-how.”

Here’s video of the interview:

Both NewsMax correspondent Ashley Martella and Bachmann manage to screw up Carol Browner’s title — he refers to Browner as the “very, very liberal EPA chief,” while Bachmann seems to think she’s the secretary of energy. Browner is actually a special adviser to the president on climate and energy policy. Bachmann also repeats the allegation that Browner was “involved with a highly controversial organization” — i.e., she’s a socialist.
